How We Educate

How We Educate Our Students

Young men are deeply relational learners and the connections made with faculty are critical to successful and transformational learning.

As a school that values relational teaching, the CM faculty engage students both inside and outside of the classroom. This makes a real difference in the lives of young men. To shape the lives of boys requires great and giving teachers, coaches, and educators who inspire and guide students with their whole being.

Through relationships and mentorship, students begin to articulate and define their aspirations, their hopes, and their dreams. Catholic Memorial School appreciates this dynamic and cultivates it to direct learning and identity development in all students. This close-knit relationship is possible because of our size. As the smallest school of our peer schools, CM faculty can engage more frequently with students in multiple settings.

A deep awareness into how young men learn points to the fact that students want to experience subject matter through active engagement, hands-on opportunities, constructivist learning, and dynamic interactions. Young men want to understand a concept’s relevance and want context as they solve complex problems. While it sounds stereotypical, boys like to get their hands dirty. At CM, we believe the best way of learning is by doing.

Become a Man of Action at Catholic Memorial

CM prepares students for the rigors of college and beyond. While here, boys embark on service-learning opportunities, leadership development, and character formation programs inspiring them to become confident, courageous young men motivated to do good in the world.
