Knights Win Second Straight South Sectional Title

West Roxbury, Mass. -- A return to Gillette Stadium never felt in doubt for Catholic Memorial on Friday night.

The crowd at Jim O’Connor Stadium erupted when sophomore Darrius LeClair took a hand-off 70 yards for a touchdown, giving the Knights (10-0) a commanding 28-0 lead in the second quarter of their 42-8 win over Franklin (7-3) in the South Sectional Final.

The Knights earned a spot in the Division 1 Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium for the second year in a row.

The run game proved crucial for CM’s offense, a common theme for the Knights this postseason. All six of their touchdowns occurred on the ground. Senior Jamall Griffin led the attack with 71 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

The winner of the Division 1 North Sectional Final between Central Catholic and St. John’s Prep will play the Knights in the Super Bowl.
