Marshall ‘22 Signs with Jaguars

Former CM Football standout Devon Marshall has a new home in the NFL.
Catholic Memorial is proud to congratulate Devon Marshall ‘22 on his entry into the National Football League.

On April 25, Marshall announced that he had signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent. A cornerback, he joins a team that won the AFC South last season and a defense that features the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter.

“It feels good to join a good team with warm weather. I’m excited to join the NFL, something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid,” said Marshall. “I got a call from owner Shad Khan and Coach Liam Coen, who told me I would play cornerback, so I am excited to play with them and prove myself as a corner.”

Marshall has found success at all levels of football. At CM, his breakout moment happened against Xaverian in the final game of the 2020-21 Fall II season. With no postseason due to COVID, the game served as the de facto state championship game.

On the final play of the game, with Xaverian on the CM eight-yard line, it was Marshall who sealed the game with an interception in the end zone to guarantee CM’s top spot in the media polls.

“That’s the type of kid Jacksonville is getting. He’s the kind of kid who steps up in the biggest games,” said CM Football Coach, John DiBiaso.

Following his junior year, he was a member of the 2021 undefeated team that won the school’s first state championship since 1978. He was also named the MVP of the Catholic Conference, a Boston Herald All-Scholastic, and a Boston Globe All-Scholastic.

In addition to his high school football achievements, he was a captain of the track and field team and a member of the 2022 state champion 4×100 relay team.

Following CM, he spent two years at Villanova before transferring to NC State, where he had a breakout senior season. He led the nation with 16 pass deflections and earned 50 tackles and two interceptions.

His achievements earned him a spot on The Athletic’s All-American Second-Team.

Marshall will now report to Jacksonville for the team’s rookie mini-camp on May 8
