Student Success

Student Success at CM

Being the smallest school in the Catholic Conference has its advantages. Catholic Memorial's counselors work proactively with our faculty and administrators to identify supports for students before they need them. However, when things go wrong, we can find the solution together.

Academic Support

When a student has a diagnosed learning style requiring accommodations, could use some additional support with his transition into a new school, or has hit a rough patch, our team develops supports unique to the student. Although we do not modify our academic program, we work side-by-side with our students while they develop self-advocacy skills and coordinate with faculty so they are positioned to succeed.

Innovative Programming

Anticipating the many challenges students face following the pandemic, Catholic Memorial partnered with Mass General Hospital to deliver a Thoughts-Emotions-Behaviors skills curriculum in our Advisory program. Students and faculty have developed a shared language to work through challenges and identify students who may need additional supports.

Collaborative Approach

We help our students develop self-advocacy skills, yet we acknowledge that parents can be our most valuable partner toward that shared goal. Our counselors work closely with our teaching faculty to understand a student's skills and progress while building a team around each student inclusive of their family.

Expert Voices

Each year, Catholic Memorial's counseling office delivers world-class social-emotional programming through events for parents and students. As we all learn more about adolescent development in the 21st Century, we share resources so we can all better collaborate and reinforce the work a student does at school and at home.
