A Word From Donahue

Mr. Palm, Mr. Durazo, and Ms. Concannon
Families:

Thank you for helping to make this first week “back” the incredible success that it was! full-volume hum is now officially back on Baker Street and indeed … it has been wonderful.

Despite the excitement,
your sons alongside our faculty are also likely feeling the increased demands, and consequently there is valid reason to feel a greater level of fatigue. It will take some time to acclimate to these new routines, but we hope that the improved in-person consistency is a valued asset in this process.

As we continue to gain comfort and familiarity with the May Term requirementsthrough this letter, we wanted to provide summary of the more important areas of change and focus for family partnership during the upcoming weeks

  • Arrive to school on-time: Please help your son adjust their morning schedule so that they arrive to school on timeStudents who arrive to school late will miss invaluable learning time, risk missing work or assignments, and potentially face disciplinary consequences. We are also communicating with the boys about the need to be helpful and uphold their end of preparation to assist with at-home morning routines. In our new schedule there is NO homeroom AND students' A-block classes START at 8 a.m. Thank you in advance for helping them arrive so that they are positioned best to succeed.
  • Attend Homework Club T/W/Th: Starting THIS WEEK (on Tuesday, May 4), homework club will run three days each week – on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from dismissal until 4 p.m. Students are encouraged to attend voluntarily, or families may be in touch with Ms. Concannon to arrange required days.
  • After School Pick-Up by 3:15: If your son is not in an approved and supervised afternoon activity here on campus, they must leave the campus by 3:15 p.m. Please help by arranging transportation to support these requirements. The school is not staffed to provide additional supervision.
  • Daily Academic Studies: Your son is hopefully(!!benefiting from the additional study time during our academic days, which they receive in their study periods. It is our hope that the boys will make significant headway on nightly assignment while they are at school, and this should help them as they adjust to the return to a more rigorous daily/weekly schedule. Please continue to check OnCampus to monitor assignments and grades.
Thank you again for your attention to each of these itemsNot surprisingly, the strength of our family partnerships continues to be our greatest resource. Happy May!

With gratitude and the hope for peace and health,

Mr. Palm, Mr. Durazo, and Ms. Concannon
