Dellbrook CEO Mentors CM Cohort
Last week, Mr. Mike Fish, the CEO of Dellbrook Construction, squared off against his mentees Gage Muhammad '21 and Datrell Jones '23 in a friendly weightlifting competition.
It's not every day you see a CEO challenging a pair of high school students to a crossfit challenge.
Last week, Mr. Mike Fish, the CEO of Dellbrook Construction, squared off against his CM mentees Gage Muhammad ’21 and Datrell Jones ’23 in a friendly weightlifting competition at O’Connor Stadium. Mr. Fish, a mentor to both students through CM’s Corporate Scholars program, came up with the idea as a new way to spark engagement with members of his CM student cohort, who both play on the CM football team.
Mr. Fish, who played football at Colgate, explained to his mentees that the key to endurance is to know where your threshold sits and work just below that level.
On this day, it paid off as Fish lapped the boys with ease.
Through the CM Corporate Scholars program, corporate executives like Mr. Fish offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to CM students interested in the corporate world. The program provides mentorship, a service model for continued engagement, and opportunities for financial aid.
The Corporate Scholars program was founded through a partnership and collaboration with John Fish, CEO of Suffolk Construction. Suffolk is a high-profile corporation that leads the transformation of the construction industry with high-performing people, innovative processes, and cutting-edge technologies. It was John’s vision and goal to support CM’s financial aid program while also creating a mentoring program.
Because of John Fish's initial partnership, a larger program was created with other corporations.
