Hanson Invitational
Catholic Memorial has hosted a Christmas hockey tournament since 2017. The tournament has attracted teams from out of state, including schools from Connecticut, New Jersey, and Colorado.
The tournament is traditionally a four-team, two-day tournament. The exception to this was 2019, when a six-team, three-day event was held and the champion was decided by standings rather than a playoff-style bracket.
In 2022, the tournament was renamed the Bill Hanson Invitational in honor of the legendary CM hockey coach who led the school to 17 state championships and six national championships.
The tournament is held at the practice home of the Boston Bruins: Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton.
