He was a student, an athlete, a coach, a loyal friend, but most of all, a man who inspired his peers and brought out the best in people—a true Hall of Famer.
In October 2016, the Catholic Memorial community experienced a great loss with the passing of Jack Dahlstrom ’63. Jack embodied the spirit of CM as a student and a coach.
Jack was CM’s first four-letter varsity athlete: football, baseball, basketball and track. He had a tremendous impact on those around him, and, even as a student, took a leadership role and began influencing and shaping young men. To continue his legacy of impacting students, we have named Catholic Memorial’s new, state-of-the-art weight room after him—“The Jack.”
The story of Jack’s impact on the men of CM should not be filed away in history. His name will be prominently displayed for all to, once again, be motivated and inspired by Jack.
Catholic Memorial, the Christian Brothers School of Boston, prepares boys for college, manhood and a world full of unknown challenges, ambiguity and complex problems and the importance of relationships.
