Brother Jeffrey Oxx brought volleyball to Catholic Memorial in 1992, and it didn’t take long for Knights to excel in that sport either—by 1995, Oxx had garnered his first Catholic Conference Championship. The Knights made their way well into the postseason a few times in the following decade under Coaches Jim Crandall, Rob Kmiec, and Jason Ford, but it was not until 2004 that a South Sectional Championship title finally came to CM, under Coach Conroy.
From 2005 until 2007 the dominance of CM on the volleyball court continued under Coach Tim Hughes and with a Catholic Conference three-peat.
The team looks to get back to the playoffs this Spring under the direction of new Head Coaches Margaret Driscoll and Claire Kreeft.
