Athletic Clinics


Spend your summer at CM with our varsity coaches and student-athletes! We have clinic options for boys and girls in grades 3 through 9.

  • Wrestling Clinic: June 15 - 18 (Boys, Grades 3 - 9)

    CM Wrestling Clinic aims to enhance basic and intermediate skills of young wrestlers in a fun and safe environment. Participants will not only learn techniques but will also learn about goal setting and the elements needed to be successful at all levels in the sport of wrestling.  Wrestlers will leave with a strong understanding of up-to-date techniques, gain valuable knowledge of drills and receive advice on nutrition and strength training that will enable them to reach the next level. CM Head Coach Mr. Steven Goode will lead the clinic. Mr. Goode was a very successful assistant wrestling coach at Boston University, and he placed in the top ten in the 1990 U.S. Freestyle National Tournament and challenged for a spot on the 1992 Olympic team. (Clinic runs Mondaythrough Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Clinic cost: $225
  • All Sports Clinic: June 22 - 25 (Coed, Grades 3 - 8)

    This co-ed clinic features all the sports that CM has to offer. This clinic will be a fun opportunity for participants to be active and learn the basics of a variety of sports. Play baseball, basketball, soccer, and many others! Run by Catholic Memorial staff (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Clinic cost: $225
  • All Sports Clinic: June 29 - July 2 (Coed, Grades 3 - 8)

    All Sports Clinic, Grades 3-8 (Coed) (Available: 40)
    This co-ed clinic features all the sports that CM has to offer. This clinic will be a fun opportunity for participants to be active and learn the basics of a variety of sports. Play baseball, basketball, soccer, and many others! Run by Catholic Memorial staff (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Clinic cost: $225.
  • Baseball Clinic: July 6 - 9 (Coed, Grades 3 - 6)

    Catholic Memorial’s Summer Baseball Clinic is designed to develop each player’s skills by teaching the fundamentals of the game. Players will have the opportunity to work with CM Head Baseball Coach, Hal Carey ‘95. Coach Carey played varsity baseball at CM from 1993-1995 and played four years at Harvard, including being named captain his senior year at Harvard. Participants are expected to bring a glove and water. Bats and helmets will be provided. Players will receive instruction through small group drills, participating in contests and by playing in two games (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Clinic cost: $225
  • Soccer Clinic: July 6 - 9 (Boys, Grades 3 - 9)

    CM Soccer Academy offers an outstanding opportunity for boys and girls to develop and improve their soccer skills. Players will learn techniques to enhance their individual skill level from an experienced staff. Our staff will work with your player to strengthen technical skills. All-facets of soccer (dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, and defense) will be worked on daily. Whether you are an experienced player or only a beginner, the CM Soccer Academy coaches will work to take your game to the next level. CM Soccer Academy is run by CM varsity coach John Finn ’89.  Coach Finn was the Boston Globe Coach of the Year in 2009 and the Knights to the Massachusetts Division 1 Championship (Clinic Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.). Clinic cost: $225

  • Lacrosse Clinic: July 20 - 23 (Boys, Grades 3 - 9)

    Catholic Memorial’s Lacrosse Clinic will teach players the great game of lacrosse and develop their skills to bring their game to the next level. The clinic will provide players with individual instruction and team fundamentals. Whether you are just picking up a stick or preparing for varsity tryouts, this clinic is designed to benefit all skill levels. The clinic stresses the values of sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork. CM Head Lacrosse Coach Matt Callahan will lead the clinic. Mr. Callahan has been an assistant lacrosse coach at both Tufts and Brown. He has coached two National Championship Teams and coached many All-American players. In college, he was a 3-time NESCAC League Champion, recipient of the USILA Stiles Memorial Award as the Nation’s Most Outstanding DIII Defender. He was a two time 1st Team All American and a USILA Scholar All-American (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Clinic cost: $225.
  • Football Clinic: July 27 - 30 (Boys, Grades 6 - 9)

    Led by Coach John Dibiaso’s, Massachusetts’ winningest high school football coach, the CM Football Clinic is an exceptional opportunity that will help players develop their skills and participate in conditioning drills to prepare them for the fall. (The clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 5 - 7p.m.) Clinic cost: $225
  • Basketball Clinic: July 27 - 30 (Boys, Grades 6 - 9)

    Basketball Clinic, Grades 6-9 (Boys) (Available: 60)
    Catholic Memorial is going into its 32nd year hosting the CM Basketball Clinic. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game from CM Varsity Basketball Coach Denis Tobin, as well as some of the top high school basketball coaches in the area. Through various drills and skills training, each player will leave the CM basketball clinic with improved skills and confidence in their basketball abilities (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.).Clinic cost: $225
  • Basketball Clinic: August 3 - 6 (Coed, Grades 3 - 6)

    Catholic Memorial is going into its 32nd year hosting the CM Basketball Clinic. Players will learn the fundamentals of the game from CM Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach Jack O'Keefe, as well as some of the top high school basketball coaches in the area. Through various drills and skills training, each player will leave the CM basketball clinic with improved skills and confidence in their basketball abilities (Clinic runs Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Clinic cost: $225
  • Hockey Clinic: August 17 - 20 (Birth Years: 2007 - 2014)

    Join Head Coach Larry Rooney and varsity players for CM's Summer Hockey Clinic. Players at all skill levels are welcome. Players will practice fundamental skills of skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting. In addition to skills, players will engage in drills designed to create situational awareness. The clinic runs Monday through Thursday. The clinic is 90 minutes in length. There will be two sessions divided by age groups. 

    Session 1 - 5:00pm - 6:30pm: Skaters born '11-'14

    Session 2 - 6:30pm - 8:00pm: Skaters born '07-'10


    Clinic cost: $275




Enrichment Workshops


Enrichment workshops allow students to develop or enhance writing, art, and public speaking skills. Workshop options open to boys and girls entering grades 6-12.

  • Critical Making Workshop: August 10 - 13 (Boys, Grade 8 - 9)

    The Critical Making Workshop is desgined for new students entering CM's 8th or 9th grade. The workshop provides an opportunity to experience the Critical Making coruses our 7th and 8th take during the academic year to provide students with a foundation of skills in design engineering, process-thinking, and problem solving. Students will work on two projects taken from the Critical Making course curriculum. Workshop cost: $325
  • Photoshop Workshop: August 10 - 13 (Coed, Grades 6 - 9)

    This is an introductory course to digital art. Students will discover secrets of digital magic that is Photoshop! Students will create original work by using tools in Photoshop and preexisting sources such as photographs or scanned artwork. Students will get a chance to make their own comics, movie posters, CD covers, and more! Workshop cost $200
  • Speech and Debate Workshop: June 22 - July 2 (Coed, Grades 7 - 12)

    This course will introduce the fundamentals of public speaking through the competition categories of the Massachusetts Speech and Debate League. Students will engage in Prose and Poetry reading, Radio Announcing, Multiple Reading, Impromptu, Model Congress and Declamation. Workshop cost $275

     
  • College Essay Workshop: July 13 - 16 (Coed, Grade 12)

    Get a jump start on the college application process. Make good use of your time this summer to craft a personal statement that introduces you to college admissions officer. This class will discuss how to select a strong topic, to let your voice shine from the page, and to demonstrate your writing skill. By the end of the course, you will have a working draft of your college essay that has been peer reviewed and reviewed by the instructor.Workshop cost: $275

               
                   
  • Drawing Workshop: July 13 - 16 (Coed, Grades 6 - 9)

    This course is an intensive hands-on workshop for students who are passionate about improving their drawing skills and have previous experience with drawing. In this class, students will spend time drawing on various parts of CM’s campus focusing on a variety of mediums such as charcoal, graphite, pen and ink, and conte crayon. Students will learn contour, gesture, proportion, and perspective. Workshop cost $200
