The Knights secured wins over Catholic Conference rival Xaverian Brothers High School on both the hardwood and ice this week.
WEST ROXBURY, Mass.-- Spencer Aronson came up big for the Knights again in their 87-80 victory over rival Xaverian Brothers High School on Friday night. Aronson, a junior guard, scored five consecutive points in the fourth quarter to give CM a 79-71 lead with 2:35 left in the game.

Aronson made a three, and after a Xaverian turnover, scored on the inbounds pass.

And the Knights never looked back.

It was CM’s Catholic Conference opener in a packed “Ronnie” where the two teams went back-and-forth all game long.

Kurtis Henderson, who was held scoreless in the first quarter, led the game with 25 points, including four triples. He went 7-for-8 from the free-throw line and 6-for-6  in crunch time. Junior Ikenna Azums added 18 points in the contest, as well.

Xaverian senior captain Marckenley Lima led the team with 22 points, while sophomores Michael Berluti and Ty Murphy each added 13 points in the effort.

The teams were neck-and-neck from tip-off until the Knights began to pull away, scoring 30 points in the fourth quarter and going 14-for-15 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter.

Senior captain Brendan Ryan (17 points) also had a key steal-and-score to give CM a five-point lead late in the fourth.

The Knights keep their perfect record (8-0) in tact with the win. The Hawks move to 3-4.

The next matchup for CM is Tuesday night at Malden Catholic.
