Scholar's Lecture: "Geometry vs. Gerrymandering"

The Catholic Memorial School Scholars Program will host a lecture for the school community and the public on Tuesday, March 26 at 6:30 pm.

The speaker will be Tufts University Professor Moon Duchin, who co-leads the Metric Geometry and Gerrymandering Group which studies applications of geometry and computing to political redestricting.

Dr. Duchin is an Associate Professor of Mathematics. She has also worked and lectured on issues in the history, philosophy, and cultural studies of math and science, such as the role of intuition and the nature and impact of ideas about genius. Beyond Tufts, she has worked with middle school teachers in the Chicago Public Schools and developed inquiry-based coursework for future elementary school teachers at the University of Michigan.
