What is CMARC?

The Catholic Memorial Academic Resource Center, or CMARC, is one of Catholic Memorial School’s newest resources for students. CMARC is a space for student learning in all its forms; whether checking out a novel for independent reading, looking for primary resources for a history paper, attending a workshop on stress management, or working collaboratively to complete math homework, students come to CMARC to achieve academic success.
During the school day, CMARC continues to fulfill the school’s need for a quiet study space. It offers print resources from traditional encyclopedias to weekly magazines to contemporary novels. In addition, CMARC provides numerous online resources, including databases focused on biblical studies, author biographies, and Massachusetts newspapers. Faculty members frequently bring classes to CMARC to give students training and assistance with research using these databases.
After school, CMARC becomes a place for collaborative learning. Students, faculty members, and tutors from nearby Boston College join together to grow and learn.
CMARC Policies

1. Be respectful
Respect your peers. Consciously treat others the way you want to be treated.
Respect your environment. Do not eat or drink in CMARC, and be aware of your noise level.
Respect yourself. Use CMARC as a place to study and collaborate productively.

2. Be responsible
Take responsibility for your learning. You can get the best use out of CMARC by asking questions. I am here to help you learn. Take responsibility for your actions. Prevent problems by thinking before you act. If there is a problem, see me so we can work together on a solution.

3. Be ready to learn
CMARC is ultimately a space for learning. This learning may be individual or collaborative, but it should always be promoting your personal academic growth.
