Model UN Club

CM's Model UN club is moderated by history teacher Vincent Bradley.  The Model United Nations program for secondary schools is designed to help students develop creative problem solving skills, improve interpersonal communications, and master complex materials.  Attending tournaments and conferences over the course of the year, students work together within strict parameters and time limits to represent an assigned nation's interests.

CM’s Model United Nations second season started off on Saturday with a big bang.
CM traveled to the Saint John's Shrewsbury Novice Tournament to begin it its 2011 2012 campaign.
With many new comers to the Model United Nations team, this was a great start for the year.
Two new member's joined the fray this weekend as Joseph Toscano '13, and Ryan Reid '13 participated in their first conference.
Many current topic's were debated in the various conferences at St. Johns, including electoral violence, solving obesity in the world today, the delicate topic of nuclear arms, and even a Historical NATO conference.
The Model United Nations Team saw the return of a few seasoned veterans with Gus Erikson '13, Dennis Muldoon '12, Daniel Shulman '14, and Ryan Walsh '13 participating in the conference.

Quoting Gus Erikson, current Model UN President,
"I feel like its going to be a good year, [last year] we were still putting everything together. But now I feel we have a chance to really shine. We have a great bunch of kids returning to the team this year, and some extremely promising delegates have joined as well. From what I can tell, we have a group of smart talented kids who want to win... and will."

The CM Model UN Team is excitedly preparing for their next conference at Clark University on December 3rd.
