Volunteer Opportunities

The Parent Council invites all parents to consider becoming involved in the Catholic Memorial School community as volunteers. There are numerous ways to volunteer suitable to your interests, skills, and availability.  Please review the categories listed below and complete our online volunteer form.  Any help you are able to provide is greatly appreciated.

Committees

Social Committee - Plans & organizes functions where parents can come together in a relaxed setting to meet other CM families.  Some of the events for this year will be the reception for new CM parents, the Christmas Wreath Making Night and Christmas Breakfast, and the “CM Mothers in Support of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.”  This committee fosters parent involvement in all CM activities.

Staff and Faculty Support - Clerical support as needed with mailings and phone coverage.  Volunteers are also needed to help monitor the Technology Room and Library to assist and support members of the faculty.   The Admissions Office and Development Office always welcomes assistance with Open House, Welcoming Receptions,  hosting local receptions for perspective students and parents, the CM Golf Tournament, the Annual Phone-a-thon, and the Reunion Weekend.

Fashion Show Committee - Plans & organizes our fashion show.

Fine Arts Committee - Parents who are interested in the arts!  If you are interested in the arts: music, theatre, art...this aspect of the Parent Council might be for you.  We are looking for parents who would like to help out with various concerts and productions throughout the school year.

Hospitality Committee - works in conjunction with administrators and faculty to help plan, organize and serve refreshments at various CM functions throughout the year. The larger functions involve both Middle School and High School (i.e. Open House, Mass for Deceased Alumni and Awards Night, etc.). Smaller functions are usually either for just Middle School or just High School (i.e. Christmas Concert, Career Days, Junior Ring Ceremony, National Honors Induction, Coffees, etc.). These occasions can vary in size from 25 to 500 people.

Parents who wish to know more about volunteering or who have specific questions are encouraged to call Mr. Donald Cormier at 617-469-8025 or email the Parent Council chair.
