The 2011 Annual Report

Thank you to the many members of the Catholic Memorial community who supported the school’s programs and initiatives this year with their generous financial contributions.

Over 1,500 people made CM a priority in their charitable giving last year and for that, we are very grateful. This document also contains graphics and charts representing overall giving to the 2010-2011 Annual Fund.

A few highlights from the 2010-2011 Annual Fund year include:

     • Gifts to Current Operations – those that have the greatest impact on the life of the school such as the unrestricted Annual Fund - increased 5% over last year and increased 20% over fiscal year 2009.

     • Gifts for capital purposes included $185,000 to renovate the biology and physics labs and to create a true seminar room including a Harkness Table.

     • The Yawkey Foundation granted CM $175,000 toward the renovations of the Perry Gymnasium – the most used space on campus.

     • The Class of 1961 celebrated the first 50th Reunion in the school’s history.

     • Four new scholarship awards were started by families to provide tuition assistance for talented and deserving CM students.

     • Parents of the class of 2011 raised funds to purchase & install nine decorative lampposts to the front of the main school building adding to the aesthetics and security of the campus.

The Advancement Office continues to work with the Board of Directors and our loyal volunteers to raise the resources necessary to allow CM to remain one of the premier Catholic schools in New England. Once again, thank you to all of our generous donors who are making a difference in the lives of the young men which we are proud to serve.

In an effort to be more fiscally responsible, we have decided to put our Annual Report of Donors online. This pdf document includes highlights of the year along with our entire Annual Report.
