The team opened its season strong with a win against Tiverton (RI).  Al Harris '09 led the Knights with 22 points.  Daniel Brooks '10 added 15 points.

Allen Harris '09 led the Knights with 29 points in a heated matchup with perennial foe Franklin.  Jeff Tagger '09 added 15 pts., 8 assists, and 5 steals, and Mike Ennis '09 scored 11 pts.

Allen Harris '09 scored 33 pts, including 12 in the 4th quarter, to hold off O'Bryant and head to the tournament finals.

Al Harris '09 led CM with 28 points and 12 rebounds.  Bonomi Simmonds-Jennings '09 had 14 rebounds and Jeff Tagger '09 added 21 points, including a 3-pointer to beat the shot clock with a minute remaining to give CM the lead.

Fri        02/13/09          East Boston High School           W 79-67    
Al Harris(C) '09 led the way with 32 points as the Knights defeated East Boston High School. Other notable performances were put forth by Dan Brooks '10 who scored 16 points, Jeff Tagger(C) '09 who recorded yet another double-double; vital rebounding by Bo Simmonds-Jennings '09 and Mike Ennis(C) '09.  Matt Droney '12 and Mike Deroma '10 delivered timely threes off the bench en route to the victory. The Knights now look forward to a tough Woburn team as they gear up for the State Tournament and officially begin the defense of their State Title.


Sun      02/15/09          Woburn High School                W 65-52 
Kyle Lawrence '10 set the tone defensively for CM, hitting the floor several times and menacingly picking the pockets of Woburn point guards all night.  Offensively, Dan Brooks '10 and Al Harris(C) '09 combined for 38 points, scoring 19 respectively in a balanced attack by the Knights. The Knights now look towards the last game of the regular season against a hungry Franklin team that CM knocked out of the playoffs last season.

               

Wed     02/18/09          Franklin High School                W 74-71
In an electrifying playoff atmosphere, the Knights showed their championship medal by coming from behind to beat Franklin, 74-71, on senior night. Al Harris(C) '09 led all scorers with 29 points, including several monstrous hoops in the closing minutes. Jeff Tagger(C) '09 ran the team to perfection in the second half while putting in 15 points himself. Dan Brooks '10 scored 11 points while pulling down ten rebounds and one demoralizing block in the game’s final moments. Kyle Lawrence '10 anchored the defense in the second half as the Knights held Franklin to just 24 second-half points. This victory for the Knights ends their regular season at a record of 16-4.


Wed    02/25/09        O'Bryant High School (Div. II South Playoffs 1st Round)    W 71-61
In their first game of the State Tournament, the Knights held off an extremely talented O’Bryant team in front of an enthusiastic CM crowd. Al Harris '09 led the way with 23 points--in doing so he became the 6th player in school history to surpass the one-thousand point mark.  Jeff Tagger '09 showed his poise in the closing minutes as he steered the offense into the second round of the playoffs. Other key performances were made by Dan Brooks '10, Kyle Lawrence '10, and Bo Jennings '09.  The Knights now face the number one seed in Bishop Feehan on the road on 2/27.  Read more in the Boston Herald.
