Posted 6/4/09: Phil Rossi '09 pitched seven solid innings, while Matt Goreham '11 pitched strong relief for two innings, as CM Baseball def. Bridgewater-Raynham, 6-4, in the semifinals of the MIAA Division 1 South Sectional tournament.  Brian Glasheen '09, John Gorman '11, and Goreham each had a home run, and Devan Jones '09 batted in a sixth run.  Read more...

CM Baseball def. Franklin on 5/30 and Walpole on 6/1 to advance to the South Sectional Semifinals against Bridgewater-Raynham.  The semifinals will be held on Wednesday, 6/3 at 4pm at Braintree High School.

Posted 5/24/09: Phil Rossi '09 threw a two-hitter and recorded eight strikeouts as CM Baseball 
defeated Wachusett, 1-0, in the final game of the regular season.  Update: CM plays at home on 5/30 at 2pm in the opening round of playoffs against the winner of Franklin/Natick.

CM Track came in 4th place in the Catholic Conference Championships 5/24, thanks to strong finishes by Ed Colvin '10 (Catholic Conference Champion, 2-mile), Nahed Lakkis '09 (2nd place, 1-mile), Ryan Pai '09 (4th place, hurdles) and Tim McLaughlin '10 (4th place, discus).  The Freshman/Sophomore team came in 2nd place with outstanding performances by Donovan Henry '12 (1st, long jump and 1st, 200-meters); Curtis West '12 (2nd, 100-meters), Ryan Malone '11 (1st, triple-jump and 2nd, 110-HH); Ryan Curley '11 (3rd, 400-meters), Nick Leney '11 (4th, 400-meters), Owen Carrel '11 (3rd, 800-meters), and Mike Techeira '11 (6th, 200-meters).  Also earning points for the team was the 4x400 relay team (1st) and 4x100 relay team (2nd).

Matt Goreham '11 recorded a no-hitter, striking out 15 batters with no walks as CM Baseball def. Needham, 16-0.

Shane Dorsey '10 scored his second goal of the game in 2OT to give CM Lacrosse the win in its season closer.  Also scoring: Vin Repucci '10 (3-2-5), Chris Boyle '10 (1-0-1), Kevin Butler '10 (1-1-2), Christian Durham '11 (1-1-2), and Frank Wheeler '10 (1-1-2).

distance team of Nahed Lakkis '09 (3/4 mile), Owen Carrel '11 (1/4 mile), John Labelle '09 (1/2 mile), and Ed Colvin '10 (1-mile) came in 4th place at the MSTCA Division II State Relays on 5/16 with a time of 10:52.

John Gorman '11 threw a no-hitter as the fifth-ranked CM Baseball team held off an equally powerful Brookline defense to win, 1-0 on 5/16.  In the bottom of the sixth, Brian Glasheen '09 hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Trevor Boyce '09 and give the Knights the winning run.

Posted 5/10/09: John Gorman '11 struck out nine and allowed only four hits as CM Baseball defeated Framingham, 3-2, on 5/9.

came away with the 3rd place trophy in Division IIA at the New England Rugby Football Union Tournament in NH on May 9, with great play by Tom Byrne '11, James Myers '09, Jim Coleman '09, and Pat Costello '09.  The whole division was comprised of 24 teams throughout New England.

Devan Jones '09 hit a home run and a double and Trevor Boyce went 4-4 with two RBIs as CM Baseball def. Bishop Hendricken, 14-3 on 5/2.

Trevor Sheehan '09 scored with three seconds left in regulation to force the Lancers into overtime on 4/28.  Kevin Butler '10 netted the game winner in OT to continue the Knights' winning streak.

Midfielders Kevin Butler '10 (4-1-5) and Austin Bannister '12 (2-2-4) helped CM Lacrosse remain in the lead throughout Saturday's game against Westborough, along with strong goaltending by Sean Doolan '09.  Others to score: T.J. O'Brien '10, Christian Durham '11, and Vin Repucci '10.

Posted 4/24/09: John Gorman '11 struck out seven in a one-hitter against Newton North as CM Baseball improved to 6-2 on the season.

: Kevin Butler '10 scored in overtime to give CM Lacrosse the win on the road against Sandwich on 4/23.  "This could be a turning point in the season," said Coach Scott after the game.  Butler had two goals and one assist in the game.  Others to score: Trevor Sheehan '09 (3-1-4), Frank Wheeler '10 (2-2-4), Austin Bannister '12 (1-0-1), Vin Repucci '10 (1-0-1), and Christian Durham '11 (1-0-1).

Posted 4/15/09: Nahed Lakkis '09 earned a state-qualifying time in the opening meet of the CM Track season. In the 800-meter event, Lakkis ran in 1:59.8 seconds.  Ed Colvin '10 ran the 1-mile event in 4:45.30.  Other winners: the 4x100 team of Lorenzo Warren '10, Dan Holmes '10, Donovan Henry '12, and Chinedu Chukwu '10 came in well under state-qualifying time in 45.9 seconds Ryan Pai '09 won the high hurdles; and the relay team of Owen Carroll '11, John Labelle '09, Mike Techiera '11 and Lakkis '09 won the 4x400 event.

CM Baseball
defeated Brockton in its season opener on April 3, 15-5.  Phil Rossi '09 had struckout 14 and Joe McCarthy '10 struckout 5.  Leading the offense: Trevor Boyce '09 (2 singles, 1 triple), John Gorman '11 (2 doubles, home run), Matt Gorham '11 (2 singles, 1 double), Kevin Walsh (2 singles, 1 double).

: CM Rugby won its first match of the season against Arlington Catholic, 26-12.  They went up early in the first period with two tries, one by Kurt Buszcynski '09 and one by Jim Meyers '09.  Tom Byrne '11 converted one try.  After AC fought back in the 2nd half, CM came on with a burst and scored two more tries by Byrne and Joe Connelly '09.  Byrne converted both to bring the final score to 26-12.  A great win to start off the season for a very strong, and enthusiastic squad.

Vin Repucci '10 ended the CM Lacrosse Team's home opener with his only goal of the game to give CM the win, 8-7 against Scituate.  Also scoring were Austin Bannister '12 (2 goals, 1 assist), Frank Wheeler '10 (1 goal, 1 assist), Kevin McCarthy '11 (1 goal), Kevin Butler '10 (2 goals).  Christian Durham '11 recorded one assist.
