Congratulations to the CM soccer team, who won the MIAA Division I State Championship on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Western Mass champion Ludlow.  In leading the Knights through an impeccable six-game postseason win-streak, Coach John Finn '89 earned his school's first state championship in his fifth season as head coach.

The CM Soccer team won the MIAA Division 1 South Sectional Championship Tuesday night in dramatic fashion: after two scoreless overtimes against #4-seeded Brockton, they won a penalty-kick shootout.  The win earned them a spot in the Eastern Mass Finals against Lexington on 11/19.

def. King Philip in the D-I South Sectional semis 1-0 (2OT) on 11/15 with a direct-kick goal by Hamadi Cantave '10. They next face Brockton 11/17 at 8pm at Taunton H.S.

nearly upset an undefeated and #1-ranked Xaverian squad but fell, 30-28.  Armani Reeves '12, Keshaudas Spence '10, Joe McCarthy '10 and Lorenzo Warren '10 all scored touchdowns for CM.

Posted 11/14/09: Ed Colvin '10 led the Cross-Country team at the Division II State Meet with a 6th place finish, earning him a trip to All-States next Saturday.

upset #2-seed Greater New Bedford, 3-0, in the D-1 South quarterfinals on 11/11. Ryland Foster-Gorbach ’11 opened the scoring for the Knights, while Nick Leney ’11 and Kevin Butler ’10 rounded out the scoring in the second half.   Will Donovan ’10  assisted on all three goals. They next face King Phillip 11/15 at Quincy Vet. Stadium in the D-1 South Sectional semifinals.

The Division I South No. 7 seeded CM soccer team def. Weymouth, 2-1, in first round play of the south bracket on 11/8.  The team faces the winner of New Bedford/Wellesley on 11/11.

def. Plymouth South, 21-7, on 11/6, with two 4th quarter runs by Lorenzo Warren '10.  In the first quarter, Joe McCarthy' 10 received an 11-yard pass from A.J. Doyle '11 for the Knights first touchdown.

Kevin Butler '10 scored late in the 2nd half to give CM Soccer the win over Braintree, 2-0.  The Knights (10-3-2) finish the regular season at home on 11/3.

Congratulations to Cross-Country captain Ed Colvin '09, who came in 2nd place in the Catholic Conference Championships on 10/31 at Franklin Park.  Colvin heads to States on 11/14.

def. St. John's Prep, 3-2, on 10/27. Will Donovan '10 scored the winning goal; Pat O'Mara and Kevin Butler '10 also added goals.

Joe Harney '10 earned a qualifying score in the MIAA South Sectional Division II golf tournament which will advance him to the state finals, to be held next Tuesday, November 3, at Blackstone National Golf Club.  Harney's qualifying score at Easton Country Club on 10/26 was a 77.  Tim Boyle '12 came in 2nd for CM with a score of 79.

Mike Panepinto '14 intercepted a pass during CM Middle School Football's game against Roxbury Latin, during RL's final drive.  Panepinto ran it in 85 yds. as the clock wound down to zero, to give CM the win.

Will Donovan '10 netted two for the CM Soccer team as they defeated Xaverian, 2-0 on 10/21 and earned a state tournament berth for the 4th year in a row.

Tim Boyle '12 led the CM Golf team in its 39.5-32.5 victory over Winchester to close out the regular season on 10/20.  Boyle shot a 34 at George Wright.  Joe Harney '10 also finished strong with a 37.

Ed Colvin '10 led the CM Cross-Country team with a 5th-place finish (16:07) in the Division I boys' race of the 50th running of the Catholic Memorial Invitational.  Ryan Reid '13 led the freshman effort with a time of 10:54.

Congratulations to Joe Harney '10, CM golf team captain, who captured the Catholic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon, October 17 at Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover.  Harney shot a league-low 77 on the 72-par course.

Ed Colvin '10 came in 10th place in the Cross-Country team's visit to the Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park on 10/10.  John Delano '12 and Connor Muldoon '12 finished in the top half of the sophomore race.  Ryan Reid '13 came in 5th place in the freshman race; also finishing strong were Alex Young '13 and John Dion '13.

Keshaudas Spence '10 and Lorenzo Warren '10 ran in two touchdowns a piece as CM Football defeated Longmeadow HS, 35-33, on 10/9.  QB AJ Doyle '12 also connected to Camren Williams '12 to score for CM, and Tom Byrne '11 was 5/5 on PATs.

defeated Xaverian, 5-1, on 9/26.  Scoring for CM were Will Donovan '10 (3 goals), Hamadi Cantave '10, and Henri Jean Claude '12.

10 def. Hartford (VT), 42-12, on 9/25.  Scoring for the Knights were Keshaudas Spence '10, William Earl '12, Chinedu Chukwu '10, AJ Doyle '12, Mike Techiera '12 and Nolan Powers '12.  Tom Byrne '11 was 6/6 with PATs.

Ed Colvin '10 came in 12th in the varsity XC race at the McIntyre Invitational at Franklin Park (16:38).  John Delano '12 finished 12th in the sophomore race, and Ryan Reid '13 came in 4th in the freshman race. 

Posted 9/19/09: Hamadi Cantave '10 scored twice as CM soccer def. Malden Catholic, 2-1, in their Catholic Conference opener.  Cantave also scored a pair of goals and David Damiano '10 added one as CM beat Malden High, 4-1, on 9/16.

: Joe McCarthy '10 scored twice on touchdown passes from AJ Doyle '12, who also ran one in for a touchdown, and CM defeated Haverhill, 27-6 on 9/18.   Armani Reeves '12 had a spectacular 96-yd kickoff return for a TD to start the 2nd half.

Ed Colvin '10 won the cross-country team's first meet, but BC High's lead pack edged out CM's.  Top finishers for CM also included Ryan Reid '13, John Delano '12, Matt Engel '12, and Tom Lester '12.
