Jason Wellemeyer ‘04
Co-Founder
PrimeTime Lacrosse

Jason Wellemeyer has had a love of lacrosse since his first year at CM, where he rose quickly from a beginner in his freshman year to a talented upperclassmen on the varsity squad. He earned a spot on Babson College’s team as an attackman, and while studying business and entrepreneurship there, dreamed up PrimeTime Lacrosse with his classmate and teammate Tyler Low.

Wellemeyer retired from lacrosse as Babson’s 7th all-time scorer but began his coaching career in 2009. He served as assistant coach at Babson for one year, then as assistant varsity coach for Cohasset High School's 2010 Division 3 state championship lacrosse team. Currently, he is assistant head coach at UMass-Boston.

Wellemeyer’s mission in creating PrimeTime Lacrosse in 2007 was to provide players in the Northeast, from beginner to elite, with innovative summer camps, leagues and clinics. Managing a staff of talented players-turned-coaches, Wellemeyer and Low began with 75 students in their first year. In 2010, they had 2000 students enroll in PrimeTime’s programs and earned a nomination by Bloomberg Businessweek for its annual America’s Best Young Entrepreneurs award. In the voting for the twenty-five contenders for that award, PrimeTime came in 3rd place.
