Advisor/Advisee Program

Mrs. Concannon
Ms. Concannon
The Advisor/Advisee program in the Middle School allows each student to be well
known by a teacher who is an advocate and advisor for the pupil. Each student will be assigned a faculty advisor who will meet with the student regularly. Teachers and advisees will be involved in activities that build school spirit, involve community service, and review school policies and procedures. Together with the Middle School Guidance Counselor, the advisors maintain a close relationship with the student’s parents. Since we believe parents are the most important teachers in a child’s life, we want them informed on a regular basis as to their child’s development.

In addition to the Advisor/Advisee progra
m, Middle School students also pair up with high school students in the Squires program and the NHS tutoring program.  National Honor students serve as tutors to 7th and 8th graders. They are available on a regular basis after school so that students can review class assignments with their tutors.

The Squires Program is a peer mentoring program between upperclassmen and students in grades 7, 8, and 9. Just as squires aid knights on their journeys, so our upperclassmen provide our younger knights with a resource for navigating CM on their own journeys. The goal of the program is to give students positive role models to help them excel educationally, to develop safe and healthy behaviors, to develop socially, and to help them become self sufficient.
